OK. Thanks.

Ignore my comment, I was looking at the 1.18 PKGBUILD by mistake.

@ubone: that's because the xf86-input-evdev package dropped xf86-input-driver from the provides array. xf86-input-libinput pulls in systemd via libinput. I changed the PKGBUILD to depend on xf86-input-evdev. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@Cromer: wayland-protocols was in the makedepends array of the 1.19.1-1 PKGBUILD I initially uploaded. I'm not sure why you commented. Can you clarify?

Cromer commented on 2017-01-13 12:49

There is a new makedepend that needs to be added:

If this is not present the build fails with this error:
configure: error: Xwayland build explicitly requested, but required modules not found.

Done. Thanks!

Took the liberty to add this and mesa-nosystemd to the [openrc-eudev] unofficial repository.

You should change the post-installation message:

>>> xorg-server has now the ability to run without root rights with
the help of systemd-logind. xserver will fail to run if not launched
from the same virtual terminal as was used to log in.
Without root rights, log files will be in ~/.local/share/xorg/ directory.

Old behavior can be restored through Xorg.wrap config file.
See Xorg.wrap man page (man xorg.wrap).

The xorg-xwrapper package provides /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config with "needs_root_rights=yes".
