A couple of weeks ago, arch linux officially switched to libinput as default driver [1]. With this driver, and looking forward to wayland, it makes sense to slowly abandon this patched version of synaptics and xswipe. An excellent alternative I found is libinput-gestures [2].

For this reason, I disown the package. Feel free to adopt it.

I am able to get xswipe working, however it screws up my ability to enable natural scrolling and change my tap and click buttons. Before installing this package I could change VertScrollDelta to a negative and natural scrolling would work. And I could change TapButton1/2/3 to TapButton1/3/2 but now they don't work correctly when I set them in the xorg.conf.d file.

I may have a my conf file screwed up but I think I've tried everything and it still doesn't work correctly. Could someone with xswipe and modified scrolling and buttons working post their 70-synaptics.conf file?

@Hacksign

It looks like 4 fingers are recognized. However, this package has been created to work with xSwipe [1]. On my xps13 I never managed to obtain decent results with touchegg.

seems ok to detect finger correct.
maybe it is an touchegg bug ?

To figure out how many fingers are recognized, execute:

$ synclient -m 10

Place sequentially more fingers on the touchpad and check the 5th column

Thinkpad X1 Carbon.
I'm pretty sure my touchpad is support 3 fingers detection.
But After I disabled TabButtonX and ClickFingerX with synclient command.
touchegg can only recognised 2 fingers event no matter how many fingers I use to trigger touch event.

I don't know how manjaro handles that variable, try to manually remove it from the PKGBUILD

mathholic commented on 2016-02-28 05:29

When I tried to install it on manjaro , it gave me the response below:

error: target not found: X-ABI-XINPUT_VERSION=22.1

I use this [1] pkgbuild for xswipe. Since it is only a script I prefer not upload it on the AUR. [1] is only my way to install and configure it.
