The pkgver() function was tuned to work under Tufão versioning system. You can see that not all tags present the "patch number":

Then I manually construct this number and ignore the tag.

The remaining two numbers ("number of new commits" and "commit hash") are implemented as expected by pacman.

If I use the default function, pacman/makepkg will mix the "patch number" and the "number of new commits". This issue would confuse pacman to the point that it would be unable to detect which package version is newer.

If you still believe that I should "fix" the pkgver() function, please elaborate.
