I just managed to install SecureCRT on 64 bit Arch so I thought I would explain what I did to help others:

yaourt -S scrt
Abort the install after editing the PKGBUILD. The PKGBUILD is now saved in /tmp/.
Download the latest tarball from: https://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/download.html

Move into the folder with the PKGBUILD: 'cd /tmp/yaourt-tmp-headknot/aur-scrt'
Copy the tarball to the folder: 'cp ~/Downloads/scrt- /tmp/yaourt-tmp-headknot/aur-scrt'
Check the md5sum that will replace the current one in the PKGBUILD: 'md5sum scrt-'

Change the values of pkgver/incrver and md5sums_x86_64
You will also need to change the ubuntu version number on the row above the md5sum.

'makepkg -i'

After this it seemed to install correctly but I still could not run SecureCRT.
Turns out I was missing something called 'libpng12'.

'yaourt -S libpng12'

Everything seems to be running now.

Please read the PKGBUILD, it has the instructions.

They upgraded to 8.0.1 so the PKGBUILD file needed to be edited. However I could not find the md5sum at the site so even with the edits the build failed. I am thinking it is a no go for this.

I found the issue. will post a patch soon

I also downloaded both the ubuntu src and .deb files still the build failed.

rican-linux@antegros scrt]$ ls -l
total 49108

I downloaded the tar.gz file from the site and extracted it into the folder per the instructions and still getting the error

[rican-linux@antegros scrt]$ ls
PKGBUILD scrt-8.0.1 scrt- src

What am I missing?

Please read the PKGBUILD, it has the instructions.

I tried installing it but still fails..

==> Checking buildtime dependencies...
==> Retrieving sources...
==> ERROR: Unknown download protocol: file

I already have an account with them should I just download the source myself?

I've just updated to 8.0.0, please let me know if it all still works.
