fukawi2 I'm stupid, thank you. Will fix this ASAP.

This will not build in a chroot:
/build/PKGBUILD: line 24: ../../file-type-detection.patch: No such file or directory

you should use $srcdir instead of ../../ as the path to the patch.

Thanks optiseth, I have included your patch.

It looks to be abandoned, as far as I can tell. No worries. It's there if anyone wants it.

I reviewed your patch and it is indeed a good one. However, I'm really hesitant to include it into the package, since it should not contain anything coming from a different source than upstream. I might include the patch only if it is part of the source=() array, hence immutable. That would mean, you lose the credits, although I would surely mention you as contributor in the PKGBUILD.
Did you try to push your patch upstream? That would be the best solution if Zoltan Kedves accepted it.

I've added a patch on github to fix the file type detection issue. If you change the PKGBUILD to what's below, it will patch rarcrack.h before the compile and resolve the issue. Of course, you'll need git on the build machine.

build() {
cd "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver"
git clone git://github.com/optiseth/rarcrack-fix.git
patch < rarcrack-fix/file-type-detection.patch

Report this upstream. Are you sure you have recompiled the program on a fully up to date system?
