What I was explaining in previous comments is that the version was never updated from rc1 to stable in the git repo.

Here you can see that it was only bumped less than 24h ago from 0.5.2-rc1 to 0.5.3-dev, with no stable version in between the two:

Anyway, this is only cosmetic.

Then one should cherry pick the commit changing the version from rc1 to release or create a compile time patch.

@gehzumteufel: those are binary releases and I already know that I am getting the correct tarball as these are the source releases:

If they built their binary releases from a different commit I can't know for sure but the PKGBUILD points to the correct upstream version.

You really should source the release from here. This way you know you're getting the correct tarball.

I'm not 100% sure that's true, as I seemed to have had issues with this version that did not appear in the binary version I downloaded.
Anyway, I will check the code upstream to make sure.

mtorromeo commented on 2017-01-02 08:40

they probably just forgot to remove the rc1 marker from but I don't think this is worth patching as it doesn't cause any issue.
You may report this upstream if you want.

It appears that for some reason this installs a different version of nomad - 0.5.2rc1 instead of 0.5.2.
I realize this may be because of the tar.gz from github.
Is there any way we can fix this?

The checksum on nomad-v$pkgver.tar.gz isn't valid anymore.

New one :
$ sha256sum nomad-0.3.0.tar.gz
