I'm on a fresh arch install with:
Architecture: i686
Model name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz

The packages you mentioned are:
gcc 5.2.0-2
openmpi 1.8.8-1
scotch 6.0.4-1

Is there anything you reccomend trying?

This is an old version of mumps, made available for software that can't use the most recent one (5.0.0).
