Need to modify PKGBUILD to support C++11 standard or may confront compiling error.

Modify line 34 in PKGBUILD as follows:
./configure CXXFLAGS="$CXXFLAGS -std=c++11 -D__KERNEL_STRICT_NAMES" --prefix=/usr

I've compared both versions. Major difference: 1.4+ uses VLC (default) or GStreamer (0.10) engine while the 1.3 uses Xine. With this the pic quality of the 1.4 is better while the 1.3 allows to search for channels. Recording +/- minutes ahead of EPG data is possible with both versions.

To me there is no reason to downgrade to 1.3. 1.4 works slightly better... That is why I won't create a package for the 1.3 myself.

This is a terrible version. In the history of Me-TV someone decided to resurrect the project or fork it and they went on a rewrite and never obtained the features and usability of the original project.

To get the original goodness you need to work on version me-tv_1.3.7-1 which I usually get from launchpad/Ubuntu.
