@steiny: upon reviewing your package i realize how bad mine was. well, i was just starting to write PKGBUILDS then…
One thing about your package: please quote paths to ensure function with directories containing spaces. otherwise quite neat - thanks for taking over.

I fixed the package and enhanced it (added desktop file). Would be glad to maintain the package, since you're not needing it anymore.

thx for offering, but my classes have just begun, so... no thanks.

hi dazzy,
you are right about the existence of a java-runtime package. there never was and never will be. it is a package provided by several java implementations (see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Java_Package_Guidelines#Dependencies).
sorry about the java7 thing, i never really tested it, and will change the dependency to jre6.
also, i dont use it anymore, my classes are over.
i will update it further, but if you want to maintain, please tell.

I like this tool. But to get it to work, I think the dependencies should be changed. There is no "java-runtime" package (anymore?). Instead, it should be "openjdk6". Also it must not be "jre7-openjdk", because not all java functions of jAlgo seem to work properly under "jre7-openjdk". One example would be "Heapsort", which doesn't work with "jre7-openjdk" installed, but it does, if you replace it with "openjdk6".
