Rufflewind: I don't understand, why ed is needed (especially gnu ed)?

Missing dependency: ed

Also, the 'patch' commands should have an extra flag '-N' to make sure that if the source files have already been patched, then the patches will be skipped (this can happen if makepkg caches the source files).

I've made a handful of simple modifications to the package some may find useful. There are more licences governing this package that need to be declared. Feel free to evaluate them here: https://github.com/WoefulDerelict/PKGBUILDs/tree/master/heirloom-cvs

FYI, if anyone runs into the "ar: Malformed archive" error while building this package, it is due to a bug in binutils ( https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=19775 ), which has been fixed in HEAD. To work around this, one can first build binutils from HEAD:

dir=/tmp/binutils-gdb &&
git clone git://sourceware.org/git/binutils-gdb.git "$dir" &&
( cd "$dir" && ./configure && make -j4 ) &&
export PATH="$dir"/binutils:$PATH

and then run makepkg to build heirloom-cvs.

Needs to be built with `make -j1`.
