I am getting very good results in 3.20 by just using the scaling option in gnome tweak tool. It seems we can could away without this hack now.

After upgrading to latest chromium, it seems to ignore the dpi settings in gnome, everything is incredibly small. Are you having similar issues?

No, I don't have any issues in Chrome with the default zoom of 125%. It works great on my 1920x1200 monitor. Actually, I did one more thing to shape up the Gnome shell. I installed a custom Gnome theme since the top bar/panel was still too small, despite the patch. If you are interested, download it from my dropbox account: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5947591/DPI120theme.zip.

you are brilliant. used to custom build this just to get 120. btw, do you have any issues with chrome not displaying some page fonts correctly, breaking the layout?
