The proto is pretty much out of date. pacman 4.1 supports downloading git sources using the source-array, f.i.

The packaging guidelines are in the wiki.

haawda: In what way do you think I'm not following the guidelines? It seems to me that the PKGBUILD pretty much follows whatever I see in /usr/share/pacman/PKGBUILD-git.proto.
Also, where do you in the source see that the mode is at 0.10? On line 5, I see "Version: 0.7".

Upstream does not tag the releases correctly. According to the source, this mode is at 0.10.
