The desc only says there are 2 repos, not what is the difference between, hence my question. Stating which kernel each package is made for would have been a more sensible choice.

+alucryd Answer is in the descriptions of the packages. There are two repos with different patches. hg repo works with with linux-tls kernel, git should work with stock. EM8300 card is old hardware, a few people use it till now.
