Good.

Once Tex Live 2016 hits [extra], I will submit this package, and the non-git version, for deletion.

Note: texlive-latexextra 2016.41473-1 (currently in [testing]) includes metropolis in /usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/beamertheme-metropolis.

If you have a TeX Live 2016 installation, it is not necessary to install this package, as it now bundles metropolis.

jabranham commented on 2016-01-30 18:51

This package doesn't seem to actually provide the metropolis theme beamer .sty files (at least not in a place that LaTeX or I can find)

eigengrau commented on 2015-12-07 08:20

The Makefile appears to have changed. It now expects DESTDIR instead of TEXMFHOME, else the package will wind up being empty.

psamim commented on 2015-12-04 09:00

It would be better to name the packages as "metropolis" as the author has called it.

ljbo commented on 2015-11-05 13:24

@heitzmann It installs the same thing. It was a very unfortunate choice of name, "theme-m" considering the original author called it mtheme or metropolis! So I did not find it and went ahead. The only difference is that my PKGBUILD take advantage of a pull request of mine accepted by the original author which makes the staging a tiny bit cleaner. But valandil has the anteriority and could very well take advantage of that new feature too. So I guess I shall remove my package then…

What is the difference between this and https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/beamer-theme-m-git/ ?

Thanks! I just love this theme and your package makes its installation simple :-)

valandil commented on 2015-09-01 20:02

You are right. It did work for me as I had installed another version of this package in /usr/share/texmf-dist. Nice catch!

jeanfrancisroy commented on 2015-09-01 17:42

On my system, this package installs the theme files directly in /usr/share[/tex/latex/mtheme], instead of /usr/share/texmf-dist[/tex/latex/mtheme].

It is then not found when I compile a beamer presentation. To make the theme work, I had to manually create a symlink where the theme should have been installed, and update the cache :

# cd /usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex
# ln -s /usr/share/tex/latex
# texhash

I think the root folder should be given by $(kpsewhich -var-value=TEXMFDIST) instead of $(kpsewhich -var-value=TEXMFROOT)

Thanks!
